Production Blog Post 3/27

 Production:

A majority of my clips have been recorded. I have to go through 4 videos of 2-3 hours of footage contained inside each video. I've skimmed through a majority of them. I still have to record the beginning of the video, but as if right now it is matched with the audio, and 3 of the clips(started editing before hand).

I've been working on the time remapping as you can see with the keyframes on the picture above and so far I'm happy with the outcome that's provided, yet still there is much more work to be done. As references, I'll be using my previous blogposts and my playlist on YouTube to help me out with so effects that'll be added on later. Estimating that I might need a short extension however I'm not quite sure on the final production ETA.

 Intention & Explorations:

My film was purposely meant to try to show the repetitive part of time/life. It's to show that everyday is gradually almost the same with very little changes or differences. With humanity it's given that we prefer to save time by taking shortcuts, or learning to understand how to make "work" a lot shorter than what it used to be. My intention of this film was to express to everyone who has a difficult issue with time management, or struggles with slow production, that learning proper shortcuts could save a couple minutes of time, this doesn't specifically revolve around editing like this short film was, it can be used as a lesson of life. Time is something that not only does every person have but every living thing holds. It really spoke out to me differently than the other subjects of media and art design.

 Motion Tracking (In AE):

An easy way to motion track simple items or text in videos so you don't have to track frame by frame, especially on a 3D plane basis. Once imported you have to apply the "3D Motion Tracking" effect onto the video, allowing the program analyze every frame in the video shot.

It should look something like this with all the different colored dots scattered around the screen. Those are anchor points to which you can apply objects, text, images, etc. Once the selected item you put on that anchor point you can adjust them to make sure they look and fit right with the plane they are attached to. You can still add the same effects and layers you can onto this object even though they are attached to the plane. Then once you're finished, just sit back and watch through to make sure everything you wanted to see is in your image.

Pre Production Blog Post 3/6/22

 Pre-Production Phase:

I created a story board for that the rough draft would look like when I put together the clips in Adobe after effects. I spent a majority of my time looking for music with no copyrights, yet I enjoyed and envisioned what was going to process as I listened through it. My go to place was "NoCopyrightSounds" on Youtube because of their massive selection of free music to use. Lastly I went ahead and researched some audio effects that will be needed since there will be no background noise of the in-game gameplay, I put together a folder with sounds corresponding with the in game audio.                                           STORY BOARD:

Custom Export Settings For After Effects:

Rather than exporting in Media Encoder to rely on the quality, I found a rendering tutorial on how to optimize your video to the best quality it can be. Unlike Premiere Pro, in After Effects you can render specific compositions to see how they individually look.
In the photo to the right represents the small possibilities of how you can customize your render experience. You can change from the quality, FPS, time sampling, color depth, and start and finish time.

Another tab will pop up to show the video file type, and the render depth and quality. You can also edit the color render, depth, different formats, audio output files, and different audio formats.
Then if you choose to you can edit more color options in the Color Management tab.
